GWYNETH Dunwoody’s former agent David Williams has announced he hopes to take on Conservative MP Edward Timpson for the Crewe and Nantwich seat at the next general election.
Mr Williams, who was short-listed for the candidacy prior to Labour’s defeat in the May by-election, said he is committed to winning back the seat for Labour.
The former Bentley employee and father-of-three, who lives in Eccles, said: “As an award-winning trade union campaigner from the shop floor at Bentley, I have the local knowledge and national experience to be a first class representative for the constituency.”
Other hopefuls are expected to announce their plans to seek the nomination as parliamentary candidate in the coming days.
