Maggie Holland Backs David

Party member and former secretary to the late Gwyneth Dunwoody, Margaret Holland said:

"Gwyneth always had a lot of time for David. Not only was he her campaign agent and tireless party activist, he was her sense check for legislation and its effects on shopworkers. When David left, to work for the Labour Party, he and Gwyneth stayed in touch and he was always ready and willing to come back to the constituency and help out.

"Gwyneth recognised in David that there was the knowledge, drive and genuine desire to make things better. She believed that his role within Usdaw would help prepare him for the greater challenges ahead and I know that she would have been delighted to support him as the next Labour candidate for the Crewe and Nantwich Constituency.

"Personally I have known David for 20 years and worked closely with him in Gwyneth's Constituency Office for over 5 years. I know he is very committed to Crewe and Nantwich and passionately believes in helping people to get a fair deal out of life. In the 20 years I worked for Gwyneth I have met a lot of people in politics and there are few I hold in higher regard than David."
