Meet the Candidates Event

I went to an event where Labour Party members have an opportunity to meet the wannabes trying to become Labour's candidate for the General Election. There was a good turnout of both members and candidates at St Michael's Church Hall in Coppenhall.

This is an informal gathering to give members an opportunity to get to know the candidates, there are no speeches. Although I knew the vast majority of the people there it was good to chat with everyone and get a chance to meet the other candidates.

It was great to catch up with Frank Lewis (pictured) who is a lifelong Labour supporter and retired railwayman. Frank said, "Having met David and read his CV, I feel David's union connections and local knowledge will see him succeed as our next MP."

I'm very grateful for Frank's support and the backing of many other members in Crewe and Nantwich.
